The Base Station is the component of the Safety Turtle wireless alert system which sounds the alarm. All Safety Turtle wireless systems require at least one Base Station. Safety Turtle sensors have no audible or visual outputs, so serve no useful function without a Base Station.
There is no limit to the number of sensors or sensor types of the same color that can work with one Base Station.

This continuous protection compares to water disturbance pool alarms which are deactivated and reactivated by whoever uses or cleans the pool or spa. This distinction is vital because toddler accidents often occur when a pool or spa area is left unsecured or when adults are in attendance.

I purchased this because my grandsons come to see us at our lake house. We have a pool without a fence and lake front property. We just put the frog bands on the kiddos when they arrive for the weekend and of coarse, we watch them closely. It\'s better to be super safe than sorry. They have worked well. Also, one more note, the unit can be taken with you for travel easily. We used it at the beach last summer.

We recently purchased this product for our 2 year old to use when he goes to his grandparents home. They have a pool that is not fenced in, so we felt we needed to add a layer of protection. We also bought an extra bracelet to use with our now 5 month old once he is mobile.
There are many things we like about the product. It appears to be very sensitive, which is nice. We once washed his hands without thinking and it definitely went off. The bracelet it cute and my son likes to wear it. It locks on and there has never been a time that it has fallen off. I feel like as long as he is wearing this bracelet that if he did fall in the pool, we would definitely know about it within seconds.
The only drawbacks are that it is sometimes hard to remember to put it on and it obviously won\'t work if the child isn\'t wearing it (as opposed to a built-in pool monitor). Because it is so sensitive we have had a false alarm once when he was sweating a lot during his nap.
Overall I would rate this a good product and I\'m glad I purchased it!
